About The Masonry Veneer Manufacturers Association
The Masonry Veneer Manufacturers Association is the only incorporated trade association organized specifically for the adhered Masonry Veneer industry. The organization represents the Manufactured Stone Veneer industry’s manufacturing companies and their suppliers.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., MVMA’s mission is to advance the growth of the manufactured Masonry Veneer industry through proactive technical, advocacy and awareness efforts.
MVMA’s Objectives- Raise awareness of Manufactured Stone products in the building industry
- Represent the industry in codes and standards efforts with ASTM, ICC and state and local building codes
- Develop technical product performance, installation and market information for the industry
- Support the development of product and installation standards specific to the Manufactured Stone industry
- Establish collaborative relationships with stakeholder organizations in the masonry construction industry and beyond
Technical Achievements on Behalf of MVMA
MVMA’s Technical Committee developed the MVMA Installation Guidelines, is participating in the ICC code development process, and is actively working on several projects pertaining to the installation and application of adhered manufactured Masonry Veneer.
The MVMA Has Employed Five Strategic Activities In Meeting Its Technical Objectives:
- Published MVMA Installation Guidelines
- Developed regulatory bulletin: Complying with the 2007 California Building Code
- Conducted water penetration testing of adhered Masonry Veneer walls
- Developed educational presentations and presented at events like the International Builders Show
- Continued participation in the development of ASTM standards directly related to adhered Masonry Veneer
